Industrial Revolution
Task: Within groups of 4-6 people, please construct a newspaper from the Industrial Revolution period. (1700-1914).
Step 1: Assign each group member a specific section of the paper. Examples include:
Front Page headliner: "Communist Manifesto Urges Worker Revolution", "Factory Act Reforms Working Age", "Voting Rights Extended to Men Over 21." Lifestyle: An idea may be to cover how the nuclear family started to change, or how nutrition of laborers has changed. Classifieds: "For Sale, Used Seed Drill", "Needed: Textile Laborer" Obituaries: Find Creative ways to tie in health issues caused by the industrial age or factory accidents. Political Cartoon Any other section of the paper you would like to add, run by me.
Step 2: Creatively construct your section in a word processor or some other electronic format.
Step 3: Once completed, write your name on the back, staple together as a group.
